London
After a busy few weeks of Christenings, Communions and my first batch of landscape prints, now on sale in Rathvilly Garden Centre. I've taken some time out to visit friends and see the sights in London. The batteries are fully charged and hope to have some great city shots to put up here for you guys next week... once I catch up on all the editing that's on hold that is. Been here a few days now and really enjoyed getting out and about again. gives me an opportunity to get the camera out and take some quick holiday snaps, which without the pressure of a shoot reminds me of how much I love doing what I do.

places by the road
I often spot old falling down houses by the side of the road and find them really interesting. I imagine the people that once lived in them and where they are now.... if these walls could talk.

Ro Tierney Website
Following a photoshoot with the very talented musician and singer Ro Tierney, the website www.rotierney.com now includes a large image on the first page of the site. You'll also find more shots of the band in the 'sights and sounds' section of the site. Photography by me :)
don't forget to have a listen to the music while your there. It's great.

Like a doll

Model: Sara Carrick
Make up: Tina Newman
Photographer : Me
For my latest fashion shoot I took inspiration from other photographers online. Originally I thought copying someone elses idea would make my life easier and take some of the planning pressure off, but it's actually quite difficult. I had some technical trouble with my lighting, so made the most of what was around me(hence the previous post with the silver lamp reflection), thanks Tina for the use of your livingroom light. Fashion photography is a tough game. Planning is soo important and you need all aspects to come together perfectly to get the desired result. The model, make up, hair clothing and accessories as well as lighting and background can all make or break the shoot. Many of these didn't go according to plan, so plans change. These shoots always seem to go on longer than expected also. Give yourself the whole day for one of these. I needed to make a mad dash to get home and change to make it out to a gig that night. Great gig too, Ro Tierney in Crawdaddy, brought the house down ;)
Sara was a great model and had heaps of patience and Tina consistently gives stuning results with the Make up. Looking forward to working with them both again soon.

Re-edit
This is a re-edit of previous shoot. I'm learning more about photoshop every day, it seems never ending, but the good thing is that you get quicker at it aswel.

Latest Shoot

Another practice fashion shoot. This was the funky table lamp I used to replace a broken studio light. Gives a good view of the set. It was a long day, planning and time management are essential elements for this type of shoot. I'll post the final pics from it later.

Rathvilly
After the first failed attempt at hoping for nice weather to photograph the picturesque village of Rathvilly in Co Carlow, I lucked upon a sunny sky this week. This tree caught my eye by the river. I also made a new friend in 'Max' a wandering labradore, looking for someone to pass the time with.

Blooms

This Orchid blossomed recently and I was enamoured by it. A new bloom each day, just as perfect as the last.
